How ICM Works

To better understand your ICM service, here's a quick explanation of how it works:

The ICM software (once downloaded and installed) runs on your computer.  When you are on the Internet, this software connects to our ICM server.  This is how we know where to send your notices (Incoming Call Pop-ups and Information Bulletins).  You will know that your ICM software is connected to our server by the color of your Status Indicator. For more information on the Status Indicator, refer to About the Status Indicator.

When you are on the Internet your calls must reach our ICM server - the same one your ICM software connects to.  We do this by arranging, or having you arrange, a call forwarding service on your phone line.  When someone calls you, the call is forwarded to our server, where it captures the information about the caller and displays it to you in the Incoming Call Pop-up. You can then choose how you want to handle the call.
